Statement from the Khartoum Health Emergency Committee:
In light of the targeting of the Sudanese people, their gains, and their service institutions, the Rapid Support militias targeted and bombed the Maternity Hospital (Al-Dayat) Omdurman on today, August 9, 2024.
_The hospital was bombed with a large number of bombs, causing losses in the hospital buildings
It is noteworthy that the hospital was reopened yesterday after the armed forces took control of Omdurman and expelled the militias after the Rapid Support militia caused havoc, theft and destruction there, as they were using it as a military barracks.
_ Doctors, nurses, staff, and some patients were transferred to Omdurman Al-Thawra, the Saudi Maternity Hospital, and there were no injuries.
_ The staff of the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State confirm that this targeting of health facilities will not prevent them from working and they will continue to serve patients without interruption.
