The President of the Sovereignty Council meets with the Rwandan President*

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met in Kigali with Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

The meeting touched on bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and promote them.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council briefed the Rwandan President on the situation in Sudan against the backdrop of the rebellion led by the terrorist Rapid Support militia against the state and its institutions and the ongoing efforts to address the crisis.

Pointing out that the Government of Sudan dealt with all the proposed initiatives positively at a time when the terrorist militia is stubborn and reluctant to implement the obligations stipulated in the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11.

Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan affirmed the Sudanese government’s keenness on peace, indicating that peace must be a just peace that achieves pride and dignity for the Sudanese people.

For his part, the Rwandan President stressed the well-established relations between Sudan and Rwanda, expressing his thanks to the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council for accepting the invitation and his visit to Rwanda, wishing Sudan continued peace, security and stability.
