Houthi Leader Extols Ceasefire as Historic Iranian Victory Against US and Israel

The leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, known as the Houthis, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, declared that the recent announcement of a possible ceasefire involving Iran represents a ‘great victory’ for the Islamic Republic of Iran, the countries of the axis of resistance, and the Muslim and free peoples of the world.

In his widely reported speech, al-Houthi stated that this achievement marks a ‘significant defeat’ for Zionists and their allies, including the United States and Israel.

According to him, these actors would have failed in their strategic objectives in the conflict, even given the scale of operations and the crimes which, in his words, were committed against populations in the region.

Al-Houthi further highlighted what he considers the consolidation of an ‘equation of unity of fronts’ as one of the pillars of this victory, referring to the coordination between groups and nations aligned with the axis of resistance.

He also praised the actions of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, which, according to his view, would have played a leading role in one of the greatest battles in its history.

The Houthi leader described the confrontation as surprising for the enemies, both due to the intensity of operations and the capacity for resistance demonstrated in the face of military challenges.

The topic gained prominence in international outlets, such as the RT portal, which reported the Houthi leader’s statements.

Al-Houthi also took the opportunity to harshly criticize United States policies in the region, accusing the country of hypocrisy for speaking of ‘human rights’ while, according to him, supporting actions that result in the death of civilians and journalists in territories such as Gaza and other conflict areas in the Middle East.

The Ansar Allah movement controls vast areas of Yemeni territory, including the capital Sanaa, and receives logistical and political support from the Islamic Republic of Iran, which intensifies regional rivalries.

Al-Houthi’s statements not only celebrate an alleged diplomatic or military advance but also reinforce the group’s position as a relevant actor on the Middle East chessboard, amid a conflict that has already left millions displaced and a humanitarian crisis of devastating proportions.

The narrative of victory presented by the Houthi leader contrasts with the positions of Washington and Tel Aviv, which accuse Iran and its allies of destabilizing the region. Negotiations involving regional and global powers remain in a delicate balance, and it remains to be seen how these statements will influence upcoming diplomatic and military movements on the international stage.
