General Mario Fernandes confirmed to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) on July 24 that he is the author of the “Green and Yellow Dagger” plan, which, according to the Federal Police (PF), detailed intentions to assassinate President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, and STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Fernandes, who has been imprisoned since November of last year, claimed the document was merely a “digitalized thought” for reading on paper.
Fernandes expressed regret for digitizing and printing the material, stating that the document was never shown to anyone and was merely a “compilation of data.” However, the text was discovered by the PF on an external hard drive seized from Fernandes during investigations.
The coup-plotting document outlined the use of specific weaponry to target Moraes and his team, including an M249 machine gun, a grenade launcher, and an AT4 missile launcher. Furthermore, it detailed methods for the execution of Alckmin and Lula, even considering poisoning as an option.
