In a move aimed at strengthening regional ties, Iran and Armenia have signed a joint statement and 10 cooperation agreements during a visit by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Yerevan. The deals cover a wide range of sectors, including politics, culture, tourism, industry, and education, signaling a deepening partnership between the two neighboring countries.

The agreements were formalized in a ceremony attended by President Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Both leaders underscored their commitment to reinforcing bilateral relations, particularly in economic and cultural domains. The visit is part of Iran’s foreign policy strategy to prioritize and expand relations with its neighbors.

For Armenia, closer ties with Iran are seen as a strategic counterbalance to regional pressures and a way to open new opportunities for collaboration in infrastructure and trade corridors, including key north-south transit routes. The signing of these documents is expected to pave the way for increased trade and mutual projects in the coming years.
