The upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China, is set to be the largest since the organization was founded in 2001, according to Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui. The meeting of the Council of Heads of State, scheduled for August 31 to September 1, is expected to be attended by more than 20 heads of state and leaders from 10 international organizations.

The SCO’s membership has recently expanded with Belarus officially joining, and it now includes Russia, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. The event is seen as a key platform for leaders to discuss and coordinate on critical regional and global issues.
