The second phase of the UN Biodiversity Conference, also known as COP15, is taking place in Montreal, Canada. The main aim of the conference is to achieve the ambitious “post-2020 global biodiversity framework” which will outline what countries need to do in the next decade and beyond, and to set humanity on course for achieving the Convention on Biological Diversity’s overall vision of “living in harmony with nature” by 2050. With China holding the presidency, and through the implementation of the global biodiversity framework, China is doing all it can to accelerate the biodiversity process, such as releasing measures and making promises to the world, building ecological civilization and creating more nature reserves. However, there’s still much to be done. Join CGTN’s Li Jingjing along with experts and scholars from different countries to learn more about how China can bring other nations together, halt and reverse biodiversity losses, and achieve consensus on an ambitious agreement.
